Located within the Legoland Castle Hotel in Carlsbad, Dragon's Den Carlsbad might just surprise you as a poignant dining choice amidst the vacation bustle. Many reviewers laud the breakfast, noting it as one of the best hotel breakfasts they’ve encountered. The buffet-style setup encourages multiple visits to sample dishes like fluffy pancakes, biscuits with gravy, and assorted cereals. Diners can also appreciate themed days, featuring options like Mexican and Asian cuisine, adding a unique flair to a seemingly standard breakfast spread.
However, dinner tends to be a mixed bag. While the atmosphere is engaging, adorned with delightful Lego artistry and a playful design, the food can lag in flavor and consistency. Customers report longer wait times between courses, which can be frustrating, especially for families. On the upside, options like the burgers receive positive mentions, showcasing the potential for standout dishes under the right conditions.
Service is generally praised, with attentive staff like Janelle noted for their friendliness and willingness to assist. Overall, Dragon's Den Carlsbad shines in delivering a fun, family-friendly vibe, particularly during breakfast, while the dinner experience may require some patience and an open mind about the menu offerings.

Sincerely... not too bad for a lego land hotel restaurant. The prices are fair and the burgers are awesome. Kids burgers lacking a little flavour but some kids might like it more plain. Service is great. I had a little wait for my food one night and they offered a free dessert so that is very kind of them.

By my standard, it is definitely worth more than the 3.1 stars it currently has. The breakfast is one of the best I have ever had in a hotel, quite a lot of options. The dinner was good as well - not the best, but decent taste and portion, reasonably priced in a themed hotel. Overall 5 star breakfast, and 4 star for dinner.

We had a great time! Kids played in the lego pit while we waited a very short time for our food. Quality food and drinks, attentive service from Janelle, she was awesome! Best service we've had from a hotel or resort in years! Not kidding, ask for Janelle's area, she takes great care of her customers with a smile!

Slightly overpriced but I expected that being at the Legoland hotel. Other than that it was a fun dinner. The food was pretty good and the atmosphere was excellent. I would come again next time I visit Legoland.

My family and I dined at Dragons Den a few times during our stay at Legoland this past weekend. Two times were for their breakfast, which is included for free in the hotel package and once for dinner. Dragons Den is located INSIDE of the Legoland Castle Hotel. You don't need to be a hotel guest to dine there though. Make sure that you make a reservation online via OpenTable prior to arriving! They are only taking reservations, no walk ins at the moment. You get a 5 minute grace period but they also state that they will hold your table for 30 minutes (according to the email I received) in case you're running late. There is inside seating as well as outdoor. All of my visits were inside but I think next time we may try outdoor if the weather permits it. There was a small line each time we visited but it went by pretty fast. The only time we had a short wait after checking in with the hostess was our last day Sunday for breakfast. The restaurant has a pretty neat waiting area decorated with Lego designs everywhere. There are also Legos for kids to play with as well as a cool spinning wheel! They have neat Lego art located within the entire restaurant also, pretty cool to take pictures of with the family! I will say that I much preferred their breakfast compared to the dinner experience we had. Breakfast is served buffet style so there's no rush. You can take as many trips as you want to try their selections of food. My favorite were the pancakes, Biscuits & gravy and their blueberry muffins. My son loved the cereal packs (they offered cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and I think Frosted Flakes?) and he also enjoyed their Belgian waffles! They had a lot to choose from though, each day they had a different "ethnic food" area. Saturday was "taste of Mexico" and Sunday they had "Asian entrees" which was orange chicken - a pretty random breakfast option but at least they tried? All of the breakfast food was nice and fresh. Nothing spectacular or out of this world but my family and I enjoyed it! Now for the dinner experience - honestly I wouldn't recommend to come here if you're paying for the meal out of pocket. Our server, Antonio, was nice and came around every now and then to check on us but I wouldn't say the service is anywhere near 5 star (not that I expected it anyways). The wait time is what really killed the experience for me. My sons food came out much quicker than my bf and I. Even though my son ordered the pepperoni kids pizza and I got the regular pepperoni pizza for myself. We must have been sitting there minimum 45 minutes as our son ate before our food ended up coming out. And honestly my pizza was the exact same as my sons so I'm not sure why the time frame was so far between. It wasn't nearly worth the money we spent. My pizza got cold very fast and tasted like something that would be served at a buffet. My bf did enjoy his burger though! So that was a plus. At the end of the day I'd definitely recommend Dragons Den for their breakfast but not dinner. If you do dine at their restaurant for dinner be prepared for a long wait if you order from the main menu while kids are served an hour in advance! 4 stars though because I really did enjoy their breakfast and the convenience of the restaurant being located within our hotel!

Menu is slightly over priced, but to be expected as dinning the LegoLand Castle Resort. Friendly service, extremely kid friendly, kid entertainment, fun decor, and food was actually pretty tasty. We had NY Steak (mashed potatoes are amazing), The Dragon Burger, kids steak, & kids Mac n cheese.

Janelle was our server and she was so absolutely amazing. Knowledgeable, personable, and attentiveness was at the forefront of her mind when tending our table. They were incredibly busy with a thousand kids running around and she always had a smile. I was given an outdated menu and unfortunately ordered a drink from it. However, she made it a point to go out of her way to make sure I got it. She made amazing recommendations, and made sure our experience was one to be talked about for years to come. We'll absolutely be back, and we will absolutely bring friends and family amd request her personally. Thank you Janelle for everything!

Love it! Staff is friendly, there was some live entertainment for the kids, legos to play with. The manager Jeremy is such a hard worker, he was on top of everything. Prices are reasonable. Oh and you can eat here even if you are not staying at their hotel. I do recommend it.
